Data and Disaster Recovery

While we believe that the best option for data recovery is from your recent backup, we know that sometimes emergencies and mistakes happen and it all comes down pulling missing or corrupt information off of damaged media. Whether it's because of a fire or flood, accidental deletion, or random file corruption, the most important first step is to STOP! If you continue to look for files, run programs ot try and fix them, or even just have the computer running with the hard drive that had the data on it, you're making it very possible for any data that can be recovered to be wiped out for good. The best chance your data has for undamaged recovery is if you shut down the system storing it the moment you realize something's wrong and call us.

Fortunately, most forms of data corruption can be rescued in our shop. From corrupt partitions, to broken Exchange Information Stores and even deleted files, if you shut it down and bring it in we can usually recover all or most of your data. It's not as expensive as you might find elsewhere, usually from only one hundred to a few hundred dollars depending on how much and what the problem is. For those more difficult jobs such as fire, floods, and physical damage, your hard drive may need to be sent out to a clean room to be dissasmbled and repaired to be copied. This can cost several thousand dollars and take days!

That's why we stress so much how valuable a good backup solution for your company can be. It can literally pay for itself many times over the first time you have data missing! A good backup system will be designed so well that even if everything you own burns to the ground, you can be back up and running with most of your critical systems in literally HOURS. However, when your important business or personal data is on the line, call us and we'll do everything we can to get it back for you, regardless of your backup situation.

Critical Data

It's easy to shut off the lights at the end of the day and believe that when you come in the next morning, all your information will be exactly as you left it. Sadly, this isn't always the case. Mechanical failures, viruses, user mistakes, and plain old bad luck can turn your good day into an instant nightmare. Where would you be if you lost even half of your most important files and information?

We can't say it enough, copy, copy, copy. Keep as many copies of your data as you can. Redundant hard disks, rotated backup systems, external storage, offsite storage. It might sound complicated and expensive, but it doesn't have to be. We have experience in protecting your data, whether it be a few megabytes or a few hundred gigabytes. We'll help you find the solution that fits your needs and budget without compromising your data's security and safety.
